Is that possible to play the World Cup 2006 with the exactly groups.;..just like FourFourTwo Magazine played and showed?

If its possible..how i can do that? via editor?

I think that's impossible since when you start a new game the qualifying groups aren't decided yet so there's no way in making the same teams qualify.

No, you can maybe get the correct teams to qualify by making their opponents in qualification worse through FMM or MCFM, but the draw can't be fixed.

Yeah USA reached the final against France in one of my games...

But I guess it's realistic though teams like South Korea 2002 and Greece 2004 are always in a big tournament.

remember, that these odd finals only happen once in a 1000 times, if 5000 WC 2006s are played on FM06 (5000 different people playing one full season, it will probably be more...) it is normal that Japan wins it more than once (if their odds would be 5000-1 it would be normal to see them winning it once in those games)

If anyone's intrested, somebody over at Susie has uploaded a game with the 32 real qualifiers. Unfortunatly though getting them in the exact groups is impossible.

Get it here

In theory, saving before the draw and just trying again and again should eventually give you the right groups. It's an option if you have ages of free time to spend.

but wouldn't there literally be thousands of combinations? (C)
Actually, it's 2.6313 x 10^35 combinations. 263,130,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 that is. The 0s are put in for time reasons.

Im very suspicious as to how that was calculated...Does it take into account Seedings, Continents (and all their implications; nto being in the same group as another side from ur continent, except for european sides who share with one of their seeds) etc
You have to remember each group has one seeded side. The odds of that seeded side being put in the right group is 1/8.
Meaning 1/(8*7*6*5*4*3*2), and therefore 1/40320 is the odds of the seeded groups being allocated right.
From there, you have to work out the odds of the right teams being put with those seeded groups. So simply because of the limitations the groups etc impose the equation gets very complex from here, and the exact number of possibilities has to take into account the different combinations of qualifiers that have to go into each seeded sides group. Brazil will have drawn with them one European side, One Asian/North American Side and an Oceanic/African side (or similar, I cant remember the exact rules. This limits the possibilities signifigantly...I could go on, but I cant be bothered :D Hope Ive made my point.

On a side note, the odds of ever getting the right draw in FM, may very well be impossible, simply because the seeds and the draw system are most likely different then in real life.

done some calculations, ill get back to you, BUT EVEN IF your 2.6313 x 10^35 is right, ur expansion isn't...Simply because 2.6313 x 10^35 is written correct to 5 signifigant figures, the expansion would be more than just 0's after those first 5numbers, itd be all sorts of numbers...

Based on the first side being seeded, and every group having two euro sides, my calculations for the first two sides being drawn in their particular groups are: 1/[8! * 9!]

Anyone that doesnt know 8!=8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1 etc
The seeded side is 8!, the second side (one of the 9 non seeded european sides) is 9!. this is because there are 9! sides, and really it is just 9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2, but because the *1 doesnt effect anything, Its easier written as 9! (a more correct way of writing this would be 9P1 I think-see permutations :))

So the result for the first two sides is 1/14631321600 or 1.4631*10^10

Things get a whole lot more complex from there I feel, with different sides being available for each groups draw etc etc...i had two hours sleep last night, so cant be bothered anymore.

Dude, it was just an inaccurate estimate.
You're right, I didn't account for seedings, continents etc. I forgot about those, and didn't think it worth the time to recalculate to get a better result which would not have helped anyway.

Well, it could be anything between 263,125,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 and 263,134,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999

Why did I post this?
