Stupid Pauleta. He should do like Henry and stay still and motionless after scoring.. A player celebrating a goal for his country... What's next ? :nape:

Yeah, you're right... If he scored a goal against Egypt, he had a real reason to be excited... oh wait... Egypt isn't in the World Cup... Damn...

The 2nd half was a dissapointment compared to the 1st one. Yet if Scolari doens't make strange substitutions I reckon Portugal is one of the favourites to lift the WC.

I wish I could agree man, but I think if we can somehow scrape out of the group stages and with some luck make it into the quarters then it'll be a very succesful tournament for us. It's been a while since I remember seeing us actually play really well, and with Scolari in charge, things are always unpredictable..

why are u talking about Egypt here ? ya Egypt didn't qualify..but did u watch the qualification matches ? I think U didn't..Angola qualified because of a Nigerian mistake..
but u know what ?If Pauleta would score against Egypt, he shouldn't get too excited too..

what will he do if he scored against Brazil in the final match ?lets say a WINNING GOAL ?!!

did u see the C Ronaldo face when he was changed...he had some great opportunities to score and he knew it...
about Pauleta celebration: cmon, this is World Cup (once in 4 years)...even if u score against the weakest side there, it makes sense to be happy

Dude, really, stop with that conspiracies theories about Portuguese being the greatest divers on the world, get over it man... It's getting kind of annoying, i even like England, but most of you are really so f*cking arrogants sometimes...

Jesus, it was a joke. Talk about touchy...

I am right about Ronaldo, he DOES look like he's going to cry all the time.

ya that feels great..u must be happy
celebrate but I think he was like..AH I scored..I can't believe it..

Pauleta is a big player & I think Portugal is aiming so high in that tournament, & thats only 1 goal against one of the weakest teams in the competition..
Figo wouldn't get that excited..

First of all you ain't making much sense!
Second... You said Angola isn't worth a enthusiastic celebration... Hm... This is the World Cup in case you haven't noticed... Every Goal should be celebrated! Yes, let's all stay motionless like Henry just because it's an "inferior" team...

Oh c'mon gasper000, every player can celebrate his goals the way he wants.. Some players are more emotional than others, and I know Pauleta really feels the national jersey. Furthermore, he needed that goal to boost up his confidence.

It doesn't matter if you win by a goal or a dozen, winning's winning. I must say though, our National Team did look shaky in this game but the way I look at it is, a tournament of this stature is intimidating and considering the amount of pressure and expectations, we the fans, put on the players probably causes alot of butterflies for them - even if they "do this for a living" In the end, players are human; except for Drogba, I positive he's an alien.

The game against Iran will have to be played differently. The Agolans should be proud, they put forth a tough opener.

Even more, not celebrating it would be disrespectful towards Angola people.

The first game is always about gaining a winning start. You can save the better football for later in the competition. It's important not to peak early.

Angola were a well organised team. I think most teams wouldn't have faired any better than Portugal did against them.

That's ridiculous about the goal-celebration crap. He showed his emotion for scoring in a WORLD CUP game. If he woulda taken his shorts off and started humping Figo for the nice assist, then it woulda been over-celebrating. That was a normal celebration on a good goal. Come on now.

ya everybody is free to do what he/she wants, but I think that was too much for a goal against Angola.
Also the goal was too early & I predicted that it may end 4 or 5 null..
may he could guess it was the winning goal.!

Well...after the game and 8 Sagres, I have to say...

Great party, great atmosphere...in the first 15 minutes we played great. But just like Argentina and Holland, we left the opposition play what they want. Whatever, 1-0 is a win, and I am quite satisfied. This was clearly a game that our players weren't giving it all...reminds me of other times (a.k.a lichen something rofl). 1-0 = win, and that's important. A win against Iran gives is qualification.

Figo, Pauleta, Miguel = win
Ronaldo, Tiago = bad bad bad
