The Game sssooooooooooooooooooo solid
The other Istanbul team must be Fernebahce, it should be. There are other teams like Rosenborg, Dynamo Kiev, Sparta Prague etc. Can any one tell me about the AI in the world and master levels. Do they play more possession play, do they cheat like in FIFA are they smarter or just quicker and stronger?

Hey Fusionfan, I have played nothing but the WORLD level. Master is next, but no they DO NOT cheat at all.. The good teams play good possession and teams like man-u adn arsenal are very quick and smart... and burnyou if you dont defend well... NO CHEATING!

I have had the Flu for the past 2 days... which sux but I have been playing lots of WTS in between trips to the bathroom.
I really still casn't believe how solid this game is... Gascoine, you were totally right about defending, Now that I have gotten better i am using all 3 defense options depending on situation... when I first play I only was using the Hook Tackle... HAHAHa now I laugh because I think it is silly to alway slide around, really because on the harder levels you have to close all the holes and really defend well.
The funnest thing is (well I usually get very angry) is when you miss a risky tackle and the other team gets a straight opening. It sucks cause they might score, but just seeing that the AI is trying to break you and not cheating.
I have never seen the AI Cheat... NO MIDFIELD CANON!!! hahaah But it does occaisonaly do things that make me try how it does it for new skills... And the best is it works... I have not yet found anything NOTHING that the AI can do that I can't do.
I am still see animations that I have not seen... this is the 1st game I have played where it is OBVIOUS that a Foul is for a obstruction or for a bad foul or for a pro foul... the ref is SOOO right.
The ONLY time the AI cheats... HAHAHA... is when they DIVE and sometimes they get called and sometimes they don't, but it is ALWAY decided by the way you are playing.
I love this game... it is a little fast, but you can easily slow it and play ala Italia if you want.
The individual skillz are cool... thery don't gaurantee anything, but sometimes help get you a Little opening to make a quick pass.
I swear... I think they used A real Physics engine for this game!!
I have NEVER EVER played a better football game and I have played a lot of football games.
For the 1st couple day (when I rented) I was excited it was good, but the more I play the more I like.
I am going to go rest now... but as soon as the diziness is away I'll play more.

The crowd keeps singing this... but I always though it was a Mexican song... I have never heard the mexicans sing this at a soccer match and I AM SURE that no Argentine (pues los putos quizas) will sing that in a stadium.
Aye Aye Aye Aye... Canta no llores... it makes me sing everytime, and my wife (who is mexican) laughs.

ok, just traded in a few games so I could get WTS2002 based on some of the recommendations you guys have been giving. Never played anything other than the Fifa series. Let's just say after one game, good-bye Fifa.
WTS is the most solid footy game I've had the pleasure of playing. It's smart, solid soccer.
What settings are you guys playing at, ie....time, difficulty, defense.......I started playing 10 minutes, but may have to bump to 20 once I get the hang of the game.

Xenieze & Everyone else now playing this game.... let me tell you it excites me to know the sceptical players are now true lovers of this game, specially the ones that know footy games, like Fifa and ISS. This game is so much fun and very realistic... teh game is enjoyable and you dont feel cheated and thats what matters.
On another note, the game gives you so much speciall in the 2 leagues with the lower division,: Fight to win the league, Fight to get one of the 3 european spots (YES you do play the champions league if you make it), fight to win the cup, or if you stink you fight to stay oout of relgation. Game is ffreaking great!!!!

Yeah the first time I played Man-U with Boro I lost 2 guys, to cards, but still held them off to a 0-0 tie.. played a good amount of them, and 1-1, etc.. great gae
I get a lot of Ties. The Best so far was a 3-3 game with Real Madrid (I was Barca).
Game started with an OWN goal from Rivaldo because of a deflection, but then (he must have benn angry) he made a flash run through the center picked up a through ball and scored.. 1-1
Still Angry he hacked a player in the area for a yellow penalty
2-1
and a few minutes later talked a player in the midfield for a red. Maybe he was having a bad day

I got the 2-2 after half time with a cross and volley

thanks brotha but i dont know if i miss alot i already have pes and we2001 for the psx1(which most people say is better then tif and wts)but il be sure to check it out when i get my ps2 due to all the 2nd division and the ability to join the CL man thats just awesome!Originally posted by Gascoigne USA

TerroCop, the game has virtually no sweet spots or auto goals... because each team differs so much, the player stats which I think there are 16 or 20 stats per player, really matter. for passing, and shooting, so you cen get a one on one with the keeper and easily miss do to your strikers shooting accuracy or the keepers ability. Its a better then FIFA 2002 or MLS games when it coems to everything, specially shooting, cause you pick where on the goal and what type of **** your trying, but you players shoot Accuracy, Power, and offensive skills make the shot more or less successfull getting on target and the keepers stats matter too. Unlike Fifa or mls where a professional player and get a wide open shot and miss it 5 out of 10 times, cause your aiming wrong or something, It makes the game look like true footy. And trust me you miss enough anyway.
Gal. I believe Galatasaray is in the game, I'm not 100% sure, but this game lacks very little in the team dept. And the rest of the game too.

I am truly happy that that you guys (who haven't gone the import route) are enjoying this game. It has a truckload of features and is a nice change from playing ISSPE1 all the time.
However, like V-9 insinuated, once you've imported and played ISSPE2/WE2001 and/or PES this game is pretty much obsolete (actually, I can't stand it now - too many flaws that are apparent when you've played better games).
Anyone here reckon this is what Fifa 99 (or Fifa 2000) SHOULD have been? - assuming EA Sports actually wanted to improve upon Fifa: RTWC 98.

I played in the World and Master levels. The AI is better at defense and punish you for your mistakes. The referree is fair to both teams. However the AI always plays on the counter-attack, and for some reason there players seem quicker on it than on the pro level. I don't know if this is AI cheating or just a matter of positioning and smarter play. They also shoot better, sometimes making long distance shots in and their headers are more accurate than the lower levels. They tend to pass very quick, like FIFA. I was beating Bayer Leverkusen 1-0, and they tied it because the ref called a handball on the box against my defender, so they got a penalty. The fact that the AI always plays on the counter-attack reminds me too much about FIFA, but at least here the AI does not lob long balls and crosses all the time. They keep the ball on the ground. I wonder if I change the AI strategy to something else, maybe they will not play on the counter-attack. It is preset on balanced, maybe I should make it all-out attack for them. It would had been nicer if the AI played slower but more intelligently, it would be more realistic. Regardless, I still like the game. Its not worth it for me to mod PES or WE5, thats my opinion. The other thing that bothers me is that you can't play wingbacks, the do not move up unless you do it manually. For some reason, the push wings formation makes no difference in this game. Like all games, there are areas that need iimprovement.
I went to a TIF 2002 cheats page, and I found out that you can unlock teams. Has anyone won a competition or league in WTS 2002? In TIF 2002 whenver you win a competition you unlock a credits movie, continental all-star teams. league all-star teams and different pitches. Maybe this is the case with WTS?
Yo fusionfan can you post the site to the codes? I won the African Cup and the All-star(?) cup under special compititions with Europe and then after i finished them it said win them again under world class and master level to unlock teams and such. So im sure it is true. How is everyone else's game going? Are you in a league or cup compitition? Im currently liverpool and am second after 24 games in the PL. Can't wait to play the european cups after year 1.

I have to admit Neutral I bought WTS today simply for a change. I will still get Extra Time, but as you said I needed a change from ISS 1. Two years now and I am starting to finally wear myself out of it. You were right about the game. I can see why you would never touch it again, a bit FIFA ish in my books, but I needed a change from the usual fare. Who knows what will happen. Either Extra Time 02 will be a bust and I'll keep playing WTS or ET will destroy and WTS will be consigned to the dustbin with Extra Time 01 and Rugby which I am trading to buy 02.

finally rented WTS 2002 a few days ago! WOW. this game technically surpasses FIFA by far! The fouling and gameplay engine is much much better.
My only beef. how come whenever the computer is coming on the offense, it seems like a plain out charge down the field and score. It never takes its time but instead just tries to ram the ball down your throat.
Also, sometimes the computer will chase from behind my player with a ball and do some kinda hook tackle. Dude. It looks too much like dangerous play instead of a legitamite tackle! whats up with that!?
Other than that, the game is SWEET. so realistic in how shots are taken. the players will actually shoot with the correct foot. FIFA 2002. my GOD! always taking shots with the inside leg towards the defender. no matter what the position of their body! Thank you WTS! plus the individual moves are great, much more realistic. I haven't seen a fake shot yet? is there one?
Oh yeah. i don't know. i am not totally happy about the passing system. but its alright i guess.
