xbox 360 controller.Please help, driving me mad!

Hello all,
This is my first post in a long long time,decided to give Fifa 12 a whirl and boy do i love it .I have already pre-ordered it for the first time in years.
Anyways have any of you guys played with xbox 360 controller on Windows 7?
I just purchased it today to play Fifa and its driving me mad for the past 6 hrs.
I am having trouble with RT and Lt triggers, for some stupid reason MS has changed them to work as z axis.
I have tried XBCD 1.07 but have been unsuccessful in installing the driver(also tried the driver signature override thingy) but for the life of me i havent been able to configure XBCD.
If there is any other lucky soul with xbox controller on Win 7,please please help me out.

btw i have tried the fix from Hrjove which uses the fifa 11 configurator

Yes matadoor2010 i am well aware of your thread.Initially i too had a generic controller.Actually it was in your thread that RegularCat posted that Xbox 360 controller is much better etc...
This is one of the many posts that led me to believe that the 360 controller is a better option.
I decided to buy the 360 controller after reading all these comments.
The point is if i have bought such a well known controller, then why am i struggling to make it work with fifa? Shouldn't it be just plug and play?
I hope this issue gets sorted out in the final release.
But at the moment can anybody help me out of this mess, Regularcat or anyone?

what mess bro ? its crystal clear ... is it written in fifa 12 that xbox 360 controllers on pc supported ? ...dont think so , so you must use the supported ones ... or as said many times edit its name in reg . now getting to work normal is the hard part ... wich needs the buttondate .... buying a 360 controller is not the fix ... being able to play with it is the fix , i think Regular meant a spefcic type of 360 controllers , not just random ... + i'd rather play with a ps3 controller ... you just need to figure out how to get it to work as you like ... i spent 2 days to get my controller type work ( it was the hardest) its a type of 2 controllers with 1 usb that makes fifa thinks that the buttons are on both controllers ... so it took time .

i suggest you sould first get your 360 controller work ... then the right stick comes next ... i'll try to help you if i can

Actually xbox controller is well supported bro,
I just unistalled fifa 12 and all the xbox drivers.updated to the latest drivers for win 7.reinstalled fifa 12 again.and just plugged in the controller.Everything is working fine now.
It seems that some of the earlier fixes i had done from fifa-infinity for my previous generic controller must have been clashing with the xbox drivers.
Anyways thanks for atleast replying to my thread
Now going back to some well deserved fifa

which drivers are you using for the controller bro ?

xbcd or m$ drivers ?

i suggest using the ms drivers first, if they dont do it & you want to use xbcd then you need to uninstall the drivers for m$ in safe mode & then install the xbcd drivers & reboot.
as i am betting the error you get imstalling the xbcd is that the driver you are trying to install is older than the version you have already installed.

But as i said in the previous post my issue is solved now after a clean install of fifa and also installing latest M$ drivers.
btw i am really loving the 360 controller.sweet

hello,
your O.S. is Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit?
....in any case Xbox 360 Controller on Windows 7 32 bit works perfectly con FIFA12 and is one of the best pad for fifa12!
..you may have other problems with usb ports!
..where you plug the Xbox 360 Controller? on a frontal usb port?

However try this:
Connect the Xbox 360 controller on one of rear usb port, in case of driver installation wait for finish!
it is important that it is connected:
Now uninstall XBCD 1.07 (if you have installed) (from control panel)
Uninstall xbox 360 driver from control panel (if you have installed) (from control panel)
Now disconnect Xbox 360 controller and restart pc!
Download the latest version driver/software here:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/xbox-360-controller-for-windows#support (select your operating system and language)
Install driver and wait for finish, connect the controller, wait for OS recognition!!
..remember to delete or uninstall any pad fix for fifa12 demo, restore fifa12 demo to original recommended!
start game and try!!

if you still have problems I will send my working driver!

i still like the original ps controllers , iknow how good is 360 contollers .. but it's been for me for years being used to ps controllers :P ..
