Your first WE8 Impressions

What are your first impressions so far ?

Well.. for me it's like a big tweaked version of WE7I. New moves, animations and stuff like that, but the gameplay is really the same.

One thing I liked is that after a goal kick, players of both teams are running, some back, the others forward. In past WE, after the cut scene for a goal kick, everyone's back to his position. That was a bit unrealistic.

I only played 4 games in league mode/bundesliga.. so more impressions to come :)

Okay Awax, let me be lazy and make a part of what I PM-ed ;)

There is a big difference with WE7I Japanese. Dribbling is much different (easier) and the game is slower. There is also a nice new feature in the master-league: If you choose NEW game and then the second option in the menu of three, you can play with your favorite team with all real players and attributes, so no default master-league team....
I also heared rumours on pro-evo that there is an unlockable level 6.....

If you know a way to get rid of the referee, then I am very interested, because sometimes the color of his shirt is almost the same of your own team, so that's confusing....

How many teams in master league? can you buy and sell in league mode? from your initial impression it sounds like PES3 players will notice a huge difference but people like myself who only play WE7I will find it pretty similar.

one of the options lets you start with just 3 players doesnt it?

How are the substitution cut scenes? Can you see the players waiting to be substituted on the sidelines while the game is still in progress?

Didnt notice that.. but the cut scene is very short. But if there's a change made after you score a goal, then the image will stay black for like 2-3 seconds before you kick-off.

had my first games with a friend...

lost on penalties to him!!.. it was Eng (me) vs AC Milan

generally smoother player animations.. can really notice the referee running around.

nice camera change for goal kicks

top left corner of the screen now has more info than just an occasional "play-on" sign. e.g. loss time minutes are now displayed (had a 3 and a 4 for each half)

free kick system: only where distances where free-kick shots are possible, e.g. under 49m from goal, you could press select to change whether you want one or two players standing near the ball.

haven't noticed much details yet... on my way to renaming all the team names to English (it's a pain to read the japanese every time I wanna choose a team.. way too many club teams)

i could borrow my sis's Digital camera to take some screenshots if you want to see anything, guys.. but sorry no movies....

back to playing the game now...

I tried to find this out, but I think it's not there. To be honest, I have no idea what you mean with that, so that can be the reason I did not find it :D

can the referee be hit by the ball just like in real game?

I did my best, but the guy was just too quick :D I think they made it impossible.

The reason I don't like the ref included is clearly to see at the picture: He has light-yellow and I am in white, so I sometimes passed to HIM :(

People, you shouldn`t be ruining this thread by asking ten million questions :kader: .

This is a impressions thread meaning whoever has the game to tell their thoughts on how good/bad the game is. It would be cool if this thread is put on sticky, and then create another thread lie Winning Eleven 8 questions. Please, don`t ask anymore questions, and certanly don`t ask if WE8 is avaliable for PC.

Yes you are right. I forgot to tell in my impression that the replays of shots are in a much better camera-angle. All from about a TV-camera-angle.. much better!

How well does the search pass work?

Can you really pass the ball to whoever you want to?

Is it easy to pull off?

How well does the cross work?

Ball physics? Shots? Curves on shots like in WE6?

Are runs made effectively, without always having to either hope and press triangle or go through an extra step of having to do the 1-2?

Overall feel of the game play?

Movies please~
