Good Week / Bad Week

Written by Dan Bolas on Monday, 15 February 20102 Comments

A new little feature starting up on Soccer Gaming.com. Each week, usually on a Sunday evening we will post the Good Week / Bad Week post. This reflects over the past seven days, and picks out an individual, group or team that has had a particularly good or bad week, along with highlighting the reasons for their selection. Any team, individual or group that manages to fivegood weeks will immediately get added into the “Four Leaf Clover’ club, and will not be eligible for future entries into either category. Likewise, a party who finds themselves receiving five bad weeks will no longer be allowed to take part in this game, and forever dwell in “the Friday 13th Club”. Superstitious lot aren’t we!

Good Week- Rangers FC.

Ten points clear at the top of the SPL, winning 3-0 at home to Hamilton and quite frankly laughing, its only fair credit is handed out to the blue half of Glasgow. Ravaged by financial turmoil at the start of the season and without a high profile signing in sight, the best bit of business in the summer for Rangers was Tony Mowbray going to Celtic!  Holding on to talisman striker Kris Boyd in the January transfer window might be enough to just see Rangers win the title, and with interest in the Scottish Forward south of the border, his transfer fee could go some way to securing financial help for the club.

Bad Week - Ashley Cole

A few weeks ago, Ashley Cole had every reason to be delighted. Your married to the very attractive Cheryl Cole, your playing for a flying team, your showing the form that has your critics calling you the world’s best left back and your nearest rival for the England number three shirt has had a falling out with the ‘then’ England captain over a lady. But this was a bad week. Not only is your personal life once again in the papers regarding a camera phone and some x-rated images, but a broken ankle has genuinely put your World Cup in doubt. As an England fan, I believe we need Ashley Cole as our left back in SouthAfrica, but at the moment, and the way his luck is rolling, I won’t be holding my breath.

    WRONG!!!!!!!!!!

He is out of contract in the summer so can go for nothing.

Fair comment. At the time of writing, however, Boyd had come out saying he wanted to stay at the club and wanted a new contract. This in turn would mean he would stay for a certain period of time, before eventually being sold on. I may be wrong, but the fact he is out on contract would obviously be a huge blow for Rangers.
