Good Week / Bad Week
Probably the most obvious bad week for most people this time out, but once again here is the weekly Soccer Gaming contribution, outlining just who has had a good week in the world of football, and who has had a less than great one. Remember one can only win one of the awards five times, before that individual, team or group is retired from the competition.
Good Week - Nicklas Bendtner
The young Dane very nearly won bad week 7 days ago for a stringfulof horrific misses against Burnley, but the past 7 days have proven there may be hope for Arsenal’s most famous number 52. A hat trick in the Champions League against Porto, no mean feat, and then a last minute winner against Hull City at the weekend has once again made Arsene Wenger look like a great manager, and finally added some clout to the good game Bendtner has been talking for the past 4 years!
Bad Week - David Beckham
Seven days ago, the world was a different place for Becks. He was pretty much on the plane to South Africa
as England’s ‘experience’, and had an Old Trafford European night to look forward to, which had a inkling of fairy tale written in the script for him. The highly charged emotion aside, Beckham’s AC Milan were blitzed by the younger, hungrier and better Manchester United team, which saw Rooney continue to make his case for being the bext in the world. Then roll on Sunday, when that Free Kick saw Beckham pull up and within seconds, realise his World Cup dreams were over. Maybe the fairy tale script had to have an unhappy ending for this legend of the English game, but even by his grand standards, no story deserves an ending like this one.
