    as per my post above, you star player wont be the 17+ player to be selected, and if he is, then he aint your star player!

    the big clubs in small countries are going to miss out with this rule, as I assume the talent pool will be much less than larger countries. I also just read the rules again so in the squad of 25, only 8 must be club trained and association trained (4 each). That still leaves 17 players...

    well, i think the european action will suffer, because of the rules. and i tihnk it will take a good few years for it to rise back to the standards it is at. however i think in the long run it is better - as it will make international football better.
