CM5 is pathetic

Damn, did Eidos killed the name Championship Manager!!
The game is awful, it fells like an alpha with minimal data base, and 95% of players got wrong stats, most of the teams got ****ed up colors/themes, and the whole game feels just very very pathetic, something even Activision Value wouldnt release.

Only a true fool would buy this when you have a masterpiece like FM2005.

1/10 score.

I totally disagree with you :p I hope you haven't got the patch yet.

There is no way FM2005 can be considered a masterpiece either.

Next to this, it is a master piece.

But hey, if you like it good for you, to me its nothing like CM series, and to be honest, even I can make a better game then CM5.

No way, CM5 is better than TCM in every respect.

This is how I would rate the CM and FMs to date:

CM01/02 "The Great CM" - 9/10
CM4 - 6/10
CM03/04 - 7/10
FM2005 - 8/10
CM5 - 7/10

Where as TCM would be about 4/10.

The tactics engine surprises me a bit, it's better than I expected, but the reaction of the players to the ball seems to be off. It feels as if they only respond when the ball stops moving after the ball deflects off a gk or other player.

I wouldn't go as far as giving this game a 7, though. But a 6 does seem deserved. The research behind this game is way too flawed for a football sim that is meant to be realistic.

Yeah, I noticed that with the players too, sometimes I couldnt even tell who's move it was because they reacted so slow. The goalkeepers are hillarious too, they move really slow til the last minute when they suddenly teleport to the right place to stop the goal.

But as I said in my review, the tactics and speed being possibly the best yet is what merits the game getting a 7.

Yeah, looks to me like the data research hasnt extended beyond looking at the squadlists on the club websites.

Only for (English) top teams. For other teams, they only have the names correct for the 1st team players.

Even the top teams have loads of generic contractable players.

I take 3 full points off for the data alone. Even the EA data is way better.

Exactly!
It seems like they randomized the data 98% of the time, and half of the players in the data base are wrong position.
Not to mention even some of the NATIONAL teams have squads from the 90's, with players who no longer play.

The only thing I do give credit to Eidos for is for having balls to release this.

Yeah, but while the match engine and databases are major let downs, even you must admit that the speed and tactics engines are major good points, with everything else in between. Alright, maybe a 7 is a little generous, but definately a 6.
