Drogba

night

Starting XI
Drogba needs to work on his finishing if he is to make the top 10 strikers list, he has a great heading ability, strength and good skills.. But so far i think he's underperforming compared to how he used to perform for Marseille..

lol, now seriously, i said they could be 'two of the best'...i mean...lampard wasn't anything special, terry wasn't anything special...if you want to go back, ricardo carvalho wasn't anything special...deco wasn't that good....i mean, mourinho know what he's doing..and kez and drogba were already awsome, with mourinho they could've been g-r-e-a-t...but i dunno...
Lampard was special
Terry was special both before Mourinho came

Actually, thats when he returns from a layoff. Notably against Newcastle in November. Funny though, it was during the thick of the racism row over the Eng-Esp friendly, and some people thought he was yelling "IM BLACK" (H)

I don't get why Gudjonhsen isn't played up front anymore I mean that's the only place where he is effective on the field. If he touches the ball anywhere else other than the penalty box he looks lost.
He has adjusted well in that CAM/recessed striker role well, after, I think, going pretty cold up front. I just remember the last game he played there, i think it was Brum, he looked out of sorts, or something. Anyway, im sure need will put him back up front

he's overrated, people has said that he's the best striker in the world, he's so very far from that. He hardly makes the top 10 list.
Who in god's name said he was the best in the world? Please, elaborate?

yes isnt it sad that a central midfielder is the leading scorer for chels? Lamps...
Yah, i know loloz rofl wtf? :| Something tells me that if Henry and Pires were injured half or more than half the year, you wouldnt mind getting the goals from the midfield, or the backline, or wherever the hell they came from. Its a good thing you said his name, though, cause i was getting ready to defend Tiago :taz:

The Price for Drogba was a joke. Im still not sure why it was agreed to, but hes a Chelsea player now, and hopefully next year, he and Kezman get consistent chances to prove their worths to the team, injury free or whatever else

He proved himself in Marseille, and now in Chelsea he's showing consistency
Exactly, I am looking forward to his next season.

Has all the attributes one needs to succeed in England.

I don't know how anyone can say he proved himself last year when that was his only good season. And he wasn't even the leading goalscorer in Ligue 1. It was Djibril Cisse.

i think Drogba is a very good player, but his season with marseille last year was better. the whole team was kinda based on his attack, while this year he has got some "concurence" :hit:

Chelsea should look better after Kezman. It seems he really wants to leave the club. Kezman is a magnificent striker who always has a mediocre first season at a club. His PSV record of 105 goals in 124 matches speaks for itself.

Kezman has more class than Drogba. He needs to adapt better to the English style, and a little bit of coincidence should do.

I really doubt Kezman will stay at Chelsea. After the things he said in the Dutch media, I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave this summer. He hates not playing regularly, his ego can't take that.

And I also think Drogba isn't that great a striker. But his sheer power makes up for what he lacks in killer instinct.

well he if he wants to go then let him go....we dont need big egos at Chelsea.....every player is as important as another whether they play or not,so if Kezza considers himself some sort of superstar, well lets see him prove it when he gets his chance to play. The trouble is he has had the chance and has still been s.h.i.t :D

Drogba, overrated? 37M€ is too much for his transfer, I agree, but overrated... He's a class player, he scored a bit much than 15 goals with Chelsea this year considering he missed some months because of an injury... I think his first season in EPL is good. OK, with this money, Chelsea should have find a striker better than him, but he's giving a new face of Chelsea. And he isn't just a head player, he showed some much things with Marseille next year, he's great technically, phisically and he scores free kick too. Honestly, Henry is a bit better especially in EPL, but Drogba scored 36 goals in 2 season in France, Henry just 20 in 4 years. 16 goals in 2 European seasons considering he's just in First division since 3 years is amazing too...He's maybe not a fantastic player as Adriano, Shevchenko or Henry but I think he's useful with Chelsea. I hope he'll qualify them for CL Final and help them to win. If he isn't really good, just bring him back in Marseille on free...

Drogba has far more class than Kezman.

Look at Kezman goals this season, most of them were either deflections, flukes......

Oh while we're mentioning drogba, instead of starting a new thread, do you guys think zlaten is over rated at all?

I mean drogba has performed well in champs league, he has a good goal ratio considering how much he's been injured, but what do you guys think of zlaten ibrahimovic (sp). Correct me if I'm wrong but he had no goals in CL, and barely scored against any of the top italian squads, I think he might be a little over rated, especially with his ridiculously c*cky attitude

Renos .....i gotta say that i do truely belive Zlatan to be vastly overated.I've seen him do a couple of nice moves but really overall i think he is an average player.I think a player has to be consistantly amazing to deserve the kind of hype Zlatan gets, and he is nowhere near amazing for me man.

ZKA.....well thats a positive view man and coming from a Barca fan,who should know a good striker when he sees one, thats praise indeed...... :D
