Crunch time for Beckham!

World Cup after world cup and Euro after Euro he disapoints.

France 98 i was the first to stick up for him. I felt that the red card was BS. The argentine that jumped into his back should've got the red and Beckham a yellow (not a red)

But now I can't stick up for him anymore. Last few tournements i've come back to soccer gaming to see images people have made of Beckham being upset and words like "just go home" put with the picture.

Time for him to prove that he is more than just a club player and a jumper seller!

England should win otherwise i'll be angry. 3 players sent off for Portigal and more on yellow i think?
There are no excuses (unless the ref gets it wrong AGAIN. 40 years of it) otherwise I'll just go :boohoo:

Beckham can ave the ****test game of his life, but people will stick up for him as he'll deliver one decent cross, or one decent free kick. He wastes so much possesion, best passer in the World? My big toe he is, why continuously play long balls when Rooney was the lone striker? Play it into his feet ffs.

- In dead ball situations there is no better player and he has the knack of coming up with the goods when we need it most.
- Crossing is excellent

Cons

- Hasn't the legs to beat the full back
- Constantly drifting inside, FFS stay on the wing!
- There is better captain material in the team, ala Terry or Gerrard.

If Crouch was playing yes becuase it gives Beckham a target, but i would play Lennon. Nuno Velente isn't the quickest and Lennon can really stretch a team giving Gerrard and Lampard more space.

Drop Lampard and put Becks in DM. He can still hit great corner kicks and free kicks and of course a perfect long ball to Rooney, but he wouldn't hamper the right side of midfield with no pace and constantly drifting in.

We would then have some pace on the right hand side with Lennon and Rooney playing off Gerrard (Rooney's best position).

Crouch isn't really the best header of the ball tho is he? But he can hold the ball up well for Rooney. I'd like to see a midfield four of Carrick, Joe, Lampard & Stevie G.

Don't you think thats risky? I mean Gerrard runs his hard out usually, so no way will he stay upfront. Can Beckham even tackle?

Personally i still see him on the right wing of England, and it's weird to think of an England team without him.

You lot are no better than the wankers who write for the tabloids. Your personal issues with Beckham dictate your negative opinions. If you don't know by now how important he is to the England team then you will never know. This guy has many times been the catalyst on the field to motivate players who would rather just give up. He runs his ass off and he gets stuck in to tackles, offensively and defensivly, as much if not more than anyone on the team. His goals have fu<king rescued us time and time again from oblivion and defeat.

Against Equador, he scored our only goal and ten minutes later he is throwing up off the pitch due to heat exhaustion. Does he whinge and ask to be taken out?....No, he leads the team by example and carries on, and the rest of the players are so impressed ONCE AGAIN by the man that their determination to not falter is strengthened by it.

Then the media and some "fans" have the disrespect and ignorance to call for him to be dropped in favour of a kid who can run fast. I am sure Lennon might be a good player one day but at this point in time to prefer Lennon to Beckham shows how very little some people appreciate what a fighter and a leader Beckham is. You ask Terry or Gerrard or Lampard what they think of Beckham as a player and as Englands captain, and they will tell you how it is. They say he is an exceptional footballer and as a leader and captain, no one could do it better. So if Beckham is good enough for the players on the team then he should be good enough for anyone else.

You lot need to stop reading the Mail or the Sun or whatever paper it is that helps you form such ridiculous opinions. I am dismayed by your disloyalty to one of the greatest players this country has ever produced, and the glib way in which you are so easily prepared to push him aside. Get over your personal issues ( You will insist of course that there are no personal issues), with Beckham and appreciate what players from all over the World agree on, Beckham is a World Class player and England are fortunate to have players like him.

Why do you guys always blame Beckham?
You should be blaming Lampard (one of the biggest let downs of the WC), Eriksson, and Crouch.
I can't believe Crouch is a football player, he's one of the worst strikers I've ever seen.

Another great performance from our super dooper captain. All he did today was try to dray fouls by acting like a little panzie so he could get his free kicks which is the only way he can express himself at times.

When he came off and was replaced by Lennon it was a totaly different story for the short while until the Roo also left the pitch.
