That trick of switching players constantly during corner does work!, a successful corner has only occured 1 out of 10 times so far. But I still say that if there is an official update to this game (my hunch tells me that ea won't bother, and release the world cup game as an upgrade and will have all the fixes included) they need to fix: long shots, pausing of the defenders, exploitation of the offside trap and the return of the really nasty foul move for those movements when you just want to rip the keyboard out of the computer.

To avoid CPU to keep scoring from corners, you have to HOLD the pass button to make a header, don't use the lob or shoot button to do it, use the PASS BUTTON.
