lucky bastid! Didn't you see Mos and Kweli at your campus a couple of yrs back, or was that someone else?

Anyway, probably 90-95% of hiphop artists are utterly hopeless live, but those two, especially Kweli, are awesome in the flesh.

^^ legendary track!

I saw One Be Lo with maybe 90 people and it was the best hip-hop show I've ever seen. Kweli is okay live, but from what I've heard and seen Nas is utterly pathetic as a live performer. I'm hoping he's good, but I'm pinning my hopes for a good night on Talib.

The funny thing is that I heard on the radio tonight that Lupe Fiasco is going to be in town the night after this show, so now I have to consider two hip-hop shows on back to back nights.

^^ Oh. See, I've never seen either of 'em live, I was just going by the opinions of what a couple of friends of mine had to say about their performances.

I can definitely see Nas sucking live because he's got a very raspy voice that doesn't project very well.

nah, I can't stand that cocksucker, bro.....

man, I wanna retract that statement and make an apology because after some fortuitous youtubing, I've gotten deeper into his discography and now I feel like a sh!thead for saying what I said because he's got some really good stuff. See, I didn't know much about him when I made that comment aside from 2-3 tracks of his that I'd listened to at an inopportune time where I had a mean ass headache or was just in a stupid ass mood, man.

I pride myself on being an individual who doesn't put forth rash, impulsively quick judgments on these sort of things, but I guess I failed at that this time...

Anyway. I think that he's a very nice artist. His beats can be uncompromisingly dense sometimes and also be repetitive, but overall, he's a very solid rapper.

^^ good ****, bro. I often listen to Truehipop on Shoutcast, and they broadcast a ton of German/French hiphop so I'm used to the language barrier...

From what I can gather, he seems to be terribly disillusioned with the rap game. He's tired of all this preponderence of gimmicks and bullsh!t fronts in today's hiphop. He might also be a Muslim or something, since he keeps shouting out his Turkish and Afgani brethren a lot.

Anyway, that's an epic track, bro. Maybe you could help me make sense of what he's ranting about?

He is basically talking about how he got sick of the German scene and how he lost friends and money because of his passion to music. He admits that he lost his wife because he acted like a thug. He blames his label for making his album a flop (which is true, as there was absolutely no promotion). Besides getting lots off his chest he also thanks his fans and friends from his homearea for their support.

It's really a lot of stuff he talks about there.

He also uploaded his last album for a free download.

Does anybody know the Athletic Mic League? I want to know if they have released a new album or something. I can't find out online as their myspace doesn't work for me nor do I find anything else about them.

Ah thanks I have to check out a local record store, they are usually able to get almost all records you want to.

Some thanks of the, according to critics, best German rapper. Kool Savas
A song against the trend of German rappers talking about ghettos etc.

And a song using the same beat as Nas' Making of the Perfect Bitch, but it was released before Nas' song

Yeah I listened to AML in a record store a few years ago, I liked it, so I bought it. I'm still wondering why they did have this. Though once they even had a DJ Muggs album that's not even on his officiel discography.
