Has Martin o'Neill taken villa as fas as he can?

It's looking like another dissappointing end to the season for Aston Villa, and their thrashing at the hands of Chelsea might have killed off their Champions League hopes. As this top four football article points out, you now need a good squad to compete in the EPL and not just a good team. O'Neill has been at Villa for a fair while now, and spent a bit of cash. However, he seems unwilling to trust the squad players he's bought in and as such, the first-teamers are knackered and can't compete.

Has O'Neill failed to bring in the right players? Does he need more time? Or has he failed to adapt to the modern game?

Yes, Martin o'Neill has taken Aston Villa as fas as he can. Now it is time for him to join Liverpool Football Club, which is what he should have done in the first place......Celtic --> Liverpool would have been a step up rather than Villa which was a step down.

If they have the money to bring in more players like Downing (not world class but good) then he can go further I think.

Villa is facing a limitation now. They'll do better if they are under more financial investments.

Well, I don't doubt about O'Neill's ability though.
