yes, he tends to add the 99-00 or the 89-90 as the last and first year in each decade (ex. like you said, 99-00 is the last season for the 90´s DB and the first season of the 2000´s DBThe 90s and 2000s database both have the 1999-00 Champions League in Tournament Mode. Was it designed that way? Just a question.
Wow. I never you served in the armed forces. Very brave indeed.
For me, the 2000s, is where the game started turning. Thats why always say that the 2006 World Cup in Germany as the end of an era. The first half of 2000, lets say from 00/01 season to the 05/06 season was fantastic. But then it became all about money, toxic fan bases and tiring arguments. And as you are an Italian, GIGI, I feel your sympathy because the Serie A really did decline after the match fixing scandal in 2006.
But I am curious to know, what is your favorite decade of football as a fan? Will it be the 90s or the 80s?
The 90s. I started following football during the 1990 World Cup. I played football from 1990 to 1999 (Left Wing and Right Wing. Last season as an attacking midfielder). I grew up with that football. He was the top of Serie A. Van Basten Gullit Baggio Baresi Francescoli Batistuta Signori Zenga Giannini. I enjoyed them all including Ronaldo (The Phenomenon) at his absolute best. There was no internet and the European Cups had a greater media weight than now. If I wanted to see Barcelona I had to hope that they were drawn with an Italian. This created great anticipation for that match which was broadcast for FREE on TV. Only in those cases could I see Romario Guardiola or Koeman. Or Butragueno Ginola and many others. Sunday was a ritual. The match at 2.30pm on the radio all at the same time. In the evening at 6.00 pm the summaries of all the matches. The next day we talked about the games at school, exchanging Panini stickers. It was all more within everyone's reach. Unpretentious, free and of a high standard. Very high level. Both on and off the pitch. From what I know, it was the 80s.
As he'd probably say: without all of this modern bullshit.
And Serie A was the best league in world then, so hard to blame.
The seasons spanning two decades are present in both databases. So 1959-60 is both in DB 50 and DB 60. Same thing for 1969-70, 1979-80, 1989-90.The 90s and 2000s database both have the 1999-00 Champions League in Tournament Mode. Was it designed that way? Just a question.
I started watching football in the 90s too and to me it was the best decade for football,i grew up in that time and it was the best, best players in the world where in our Serie A,sunday was a special day,all in the family reunite to hear the radio and it was so magical. The 90s.
