I bought a Logitech Wingman Rumblepad this week because I was having a really hard time passing accurately with my 8-way Sidewinder. I chose the Rumblepad because it has an 8-way pad, two analog sticks, and 9 buttons.
The problem is that there are ten functions for the nine buttons, so it appears that one of them must be left out. When you look at the controller configuration screen, the "1-2 pass" function is listed with "none" for the corresponding control.
As it turns out, however, you can use the right-side analog stick for a 1-2 pass! Simply point it at the player you want to pass to. You will retain control of your player and you can press "B" to have them pass the ball back to you.
I hope this helps. I really like the game much better with this controller.
