I played through 02FWC and really feel that this should have been released as an add-on/stand alone upgrade to FIFA 2002. This game should have been priced $29.99, with a $10 rebate if you bought and registered both games.
I recently bought Jedi Knight II and just saw that they released the Modding tools to gamers to get entended life out of the game - all game companies should follow this example.
With no player editor (How am I supposed to score MY first World Cup goal?), no way to rearrange the groupings, no stats screen for scorers (just the Top 5) and just 2 modes of play - this game is very overpriced despite it's limitations.
I've spent $70 combined on the 2 EA soccer games and neither has the features and capabilities that most every other sports title has.
For people who get upset very easily, I would recommend going with one of the patches for FIFA '02 and wait until the price for '02FWC comes down to a more reasonable price.
