2014 World Cup Graphics for FIFA 13

I basically had to make this mod out of necessity.

I wanted to play @Skoczek 's World Cup mod for FIFA 14 (http://www.soccergaming.com/index.php?threads/2014-fifa-world-cup-conversion.6470467/) through Wineskin on our family's old Macbook Air early 2014 model. Unfortunately the computer can only run up until FIFA 13, but luckily some of the graphic assets of Skoczek's mod are compatible with a few adjustments.

I sought his permission around last month to proceed with this project, so I've been busy after being granted. Since this project is purely graphic-oriented, quick disclaimer here that I am using FIFA Infinity's RTWC 2014 rosters (https://dl.fifa-infinity.com/fifa-13/patches-fifa-13/rtwc-2014-expansion-patch/) while testing the conversion project.

I'll post some screenshots a little later, with what I've completed so far (intro screens, few overlays and fonts)

Obvious issues so far:

1. @Evolution 's pebble flags do not show up (even with the config.ini and crest folders included to the data/ui/game/overlays folder)
2. FIFA 14 player name bars do not load the actual player's name and number on FIFA 13, both the modded and default versions. On the left name bar, I just used text placeholders to make the "69 PLYR" appear. FIFA 13's name bar logic must be very different to 14's, in that case.
3. Team lineup during the intro only shows the goalkeeper. The rest of the players pop up behind the goalkeeper's name
4. In the overlay when a player scores a goal, a zero (and sometime a one) shows up beside the minute and below the player's name

I'm not sure I can figure out how to make the pebble flags work, but I think I can fix the alignment for the lineup names. For the name bars, I might just edit the default FIFA 13 overlays to let the player name and number show up properly.

Some progress made: I am now able to make the team crest logos show up in the overlays EXCEPT the player name bars, which I modded based on the default FIFA 13 name bars using the 2014 World Cup textures ...

The current struggle I have is scaling down the crest logos, as the usual values I change do not seem to work.

I've figured out how to scale the crest logos! With this progress, I'm pretty sure I'm now able to scale the logos for the rest of the overlays

How did u move the "PRESS START OR SPACE" text from right to center in the title screen?

I found the coordinates for those characters in /ui/game/screens/bootflow/03_pressstart.big

x coordinate at offset 1580 then y coordinate at offset 1584 (hexadecimal format)
x @ offset 5504 then y @ offset 5508 (decimal format)

then add and subtract the values accordingly

Thank you for the kind words, coming from one of the modding veterans. I'm just lucky to have lots of free time outside work and chores to play around with the files.

This is my progress with the intro and main menu so far. Our computer couldn't record internal audio by default, so I used a placeholder BGM for now:

As you can see, I was able to replace the default FIFA 13 language select flags with the ones from the 2014 World Cup game. Also I was able to hide the FIFA 13 widgets on the upper left and lower right areas of the main menu.

As for other progress, I am still fixing the Formations Overlay during kickoff and the Player Scores Overlay. For other Overlays, these are my progress as of now:

I finally got a working overlay for the Lineup and Formations!

Just need to succeed with the Player Scores overlay, then I can have an initial release for this graphics mod

On the 10th anniversary of the 2014 World Cup, I'm pleased to announce the version 1.0 release of the 2014 World Cup graphical mod for FIFA 13.

As I mentioned before, most of the work has been done by @Skoczek and his collaborators for the revised FIFA 14 World Cup conversion mod, and the original 2014 World Cup patch done by the FIFA Infinity team. I made a few adjustments to those mods, to make them compatible for FIFA 13.

For best results, I highly recommend first installing the RTWC 2014 mod by the FIFA Infinity team before installing this mod.
