4 things i dont understand about the formations

:sKIp_E:hi all,

have searched everywhere and not found anything....can anybody help out at all?

basically i'm having difficulty getting to grips with the advanced parts of the formation editor - the basics are fine, and after a lot of trial and error i'm having fun with the custom tactics, but on the formation editor there are 4 aspects I just can't get my head around:

1) Roles. When setting forwards, is there that much difference between a L/RS, and an ST? would the l/RS be more likely to make runs into channels, for instance?

2) Attack/Defense Arrows. When setting these, how much do they make a difference? Easiest way to demonstrate, I have always imagined the arrows to, in effect, shift the position in either attack or defense (turn a defender into a midfielder, modfielder into forward, etc)...what I don't get is whether it's a large or small shift? firstly, if I have a CM and gave him a forward arrow, would he go to CAM or a forward? secondly, if I have an CM and give him a left arrow, would i execpt that to make him an LM, or an LCM?
(if that assumption is wrong then that's prob a good place to start!!)

3) thelast thing is the arrow that indicate more/less effort - does it correspond to more [hysical or tactical focus (so if LM has a 'high' arrow in attack and is set to cross lots, will he make more runs, faster runs, longer runs, or a combination of thd above)?

Cheers for the help peeps...

I know the outside players (RB, LB, RM, LM, RF, LF) require higher speed, pass and cross ratings in order to increase their overall ratings. So that's one difference there -- tactically, they're ideally used to set up the play in the middle.

I would think the attack/defense arrows are pretty self-explanatory, or they should be anyway. It sounds like you should maybe run some test games to see exactly how effective they are, and then post your results. I'm guessing very few people know the answer to that.
