Sammi Hyypia says "It's the Portuguese style to go to the ground" I assume he's making this statement based on this one game, because obviously he doesn't know Portuguese football. What IS a disgrace is how a team as "glorious" as Liverpool is resorting to excuses and finger pointing after not being able to defeat a team which is considered to be rather "weak" by some.

EVERYONE play-acts in football nowadays. I wasn't upset really at Boavista, and comming to Anfield and earning a 1-1 draw is a great result despite our poor form. I was more upset at the ref who was calling Heskey for every time he jumped in the air, and at Liverpool for playing poorly again.

Yes we're missing two influential players in Patrick Berger and Vladimir Smicer but we should, with all due respect to the champions of Portugal, play a lot better than we did yesterday.

At least Dynamo and Dortmund drew so we're all level on points, and if Boavista play the way they did yesterday they will be able to take points off those two teams as well.

actually, Portuguese players don't dive that much !!! they're are alright actually

The worst players, and most frustrating to watch are:
the Italians (obviously)
the Germans (they can't do anything else)
and the Dutch have started now, so have a few frenchies like Scumy Pires

Actually I have nothing but respect for English football, sure I don't find thier style of play the most entertaining at times, but it's a good system none the less.

I just don't think Sammi Hyypia's comments to the media were very tactful, he sould have singled out individual players if he had a problem with how they acted on the pitch, but it's incorect to accuse the entire Boavista squad and Portuguese football as a whole.

Anyways, good luck to Liverpool in the rest of the CL.

Unforunatly diving, and faking injuries are just widespread around the world, and even young players like Ash Cole are doing the same. It completly ruins football.......

yeah thats true ... they play a dirty game with lot of fouls and dirty tackles. and simulate injuries ... BUT thats no escuse to liverpool they just didnt't play well enough to win boavista and ... the draw was lucky to them ...

i must agreed that we played terribily throughout the whole week and yes we are lucky to get away with one point if it's not for owen.. and i fully respect boavista for able to gain a point and maybe all the three points but it is just sad to see players play acting throughout the whole match...
