Brighton - Surviving Relegation

Right guys, i'm currently managing Brighton and Hove Albion in the Championship, and as my board put it "fighting bravely against relegation".

It's not gone TOO badly so far considering the amount of injuries the squad has suffered, i recently went on a five (yes, FIVE!) game unbeaten run :p. Though i appear to be struggling with consistency. The team doesn't seem to have much of a problem scoring goals, but they're leaking just as many - especially early on in the game.

I've managed to bring in a few signings that have - of whom Karl Svensson, Steve Kabba and Kalle Ljungberg have been the best so far. Ljungberg and Kabba bagging 12 goals each so far.

Heres the formation (and the team i play WHEN FIT) and the squad i've been playing.

Any advice guys?

nice signings:jap:

could you maybe post a screenie of the team's instructions? so we can get a better idea of how you're playing?...anyway the tactic seems fair to me..good luck:rockman:

cheers, Fili :)

Heres the team instructions.

It's been 4 games without a win at the moment :( have slumped to 21st, though i'm still 12 points clear of relegation. Injuries have been a complete bitch all season with at least 2 key players out at a time.

Do you have individual instructions too, because everyone on hard tackles will produce alot of missed tackles surely. Also closing down all the time must take a lot of your your teams stamina, and do you not find that players are drawn out of their proper posistion alot leaving you vulnerable to attack?

yea i've got individual instructions set aswell, moulded on the presets for the positions. To be honest i didn't even realise how far up the closing down and time wasting bars were.

Do you use the scouting of the opposition team? I find it helps on judging my defensive line. Fast attack you obviously dont push to far up the field because your open to balls through you unless you've got quick defenders, more of an aerial threat you push up a bit more to try to reduce the amount of play near your penalty area. Might help with your leaking :D

cheers for the advice dude (Y)

I'm not really used to managing a struggling club to be honest, it's not really something that i've done to this depth before.

i've been doing it a lot recently. Really enjoy turning them into top class clubs. Took torquay from L2 upto the EPL. Same with notts county in fm 05, and shrewsbury town in cm 03/04. Currently just saved portsmouth from relegation, i've just beaten Barcelona 5-0 in the Uefa Cup and then Tottenham 7-1.

It's gonna take a while, but i'm hoping to do the same with Brighton :fool:
