Nick, i gotta agree with you, it seems like the more i play this game the more I find it less frustrating. I've heard people complain about how hard crosses can be, but its all about timing.

I mean sometimes the auto cross feature can be anyoying when your player decides to make stupid cross, but if u use the player runs correctly, u will soon be a master at crossing as i am (H)

I also realize that EA made defence a lot harder to play, but its all about timing. As real football would be:D

All i can say is that FIFA rulez this year!!! I finnally manage to pull off an overhead kick with Ferdinand, but it was kinda useless since he booted it 40 yards out of bounds:rolleyes:

Ohh yea if you guys wanna see some of my lethal freekicks taken with Davids and Connciao(sp?) of Inter Milan, email me at

I am

just finished a 4 hrs session , semipro (sim) though I can't tell the difference between Sim and Action. The game is a battle , tackles that somehow don't ring true. I was playing against Barca in the Champions League, all I need do was line up my defender in front of the oncoming attacker and I would win the ball just by standing there. I just can't put my finger on it but there is no real flow to a game. You do a few quick one time passes until you in there attacking 3rd , you turn your player 360 and play a through ball , get you forward to do a stepover or drag get in the box , press the shoot button as quick as you can and score you hope. Balls ping off players heels at an unreal rate of knots , if your in the midfield and there are 4 or 5 players in there the ball can be like a ping pong ball rattling off them , I tackle win the ball I am then tackled in the space of a second, There seems no room , no real pace to get ahead and make good moves. Its a case of moving the ball on as qucikly as poss so not the get closed down and your forward getting off a quick shot. Freekicks and corners , it might be that I need a new game pad , I am not saying it should be easy but ( it might be my pad ) it is pure luck to hit the sweet spot. The pointer stll moves after I have hit the button . I will keep trying , but I find it a bit of a chore to play no real sense of winning. Not that I want an easy game , but as i have said , its all tackles and you never seem to get your marked players free of there markers when you hit the "run" button , yes they make a runs but never have the pace ( and I am talking players with 10 for speed ) to get clear. over 90% of passes are cut out again if I was standing with player in front of me I would be able 8 or 9 times out of 10 to pass the ball by him. Not in this game, your lucky, if a player is close to you , to get 1 or 2 passes by him , unreal! .... I was hoping like I have done every year that I have bought Fifa that this time it will be better.. yes the graphics and a lot of the animation is 10 out of 10 , running ( not full sprint , even that still does not look right ) the players look every stiff and upright... I put a PS1 emulator on my PC and my son had WE4 , faults yes .. but you got a sense you were playing a game of football. and not kick and rush before you are closed down and tackled. I suppose (I should not be to harsh ( I don;t think I am ) even the greatest teams in the world can't mark and close down as happens in FIFA but then it is a compter game and the players in the game as soon as they pass a ball on move back into there starting postions , unlike real players who on the whole are caught out of postion.. AI ones seldom are ..and that I why there is not real room and the game does not ring true for me.. they are in there formations and never stray from them. How many times have you seen breakaways in FIFA where this is 3 or 4 on 1 or 2 never. I don;t want an easy game .. just one that comes close to the real thing.. and at the moment FIFA does not .. yes I will buy 2004 I can't help it I love football.. I hope they ( i know they won't ) take all the best of FIFA and mix it with WE and PES. forgive the spelling and grammer I am ready for my bed..........

I am with you man. Playing it everyday. I am playing the PC version. I had a P2 333 voodoo 3 500 RAM. FIFA 2003 Demo was **** and tryed it on my bro's PC 1.1 AMD with Radeon 8500 vid card and I soon as I layed my eyes on it, I went to my nearest PC store and bought myself a descent vid graphics card, 1.6 AMD CPU, new Montherboard and a new case which cost me $400, its like I have a brand new PC except I kept my less than a year old Monitor and my 500RAM. Now I have the full game and it ROCKSS:rockman:

People that don't like it, well I did not like ISS 2 when I was a fifa gamer and it was hard to switch to a real soccer game. I gave it a chance, got hang of it, the passing, shooting, heading... than I loved every bit of it. I actually spent my time practicing in the practice mode till I got the hang of it. Same goes to fifa 2003, you need to get hang of it. You can't get super headers anymore, can't sprint yourself all the way to goal...., when slide tackling an opponent, your player will not be able to get up quickly as possible as it was in the previous fifa games... plays like real soccer.

hell yea this game rox, i play it everyday, but i gotta question, i always hear some1 saying they scored from 40 yrds out?!?! how do u score, cuz once u pass 30 yards out or something like that, it doesnt show the circle to aim the ball at the goal, so how do u score 40 yards out on a free kick?

oh yea and is there a way to see how far the shot you took during the game???
