Cannot remap controller with USB PS converter

It's good to see EA have finally fixed the involuntary movements problem when you use the USB to Playstation pad converter.

But now they've introduced a new problem - you cannot remap the controls in game. It comes up with default device as 'keyboard' and whatever button on the joypad you try to set for whatever function, you get a keystroke (such as 'right arrow' 's') on screen.

All I want to do, using

is to set sprint to L1 and change player to R1.

And it doesn't let me do this. Everything else seems to work fine. But for now I have to make do with R2 as sprint, and I can't play that way.

I know there have been controller problem threads, but I looked through them all and didn't see this particular issue.

Any ideas?

I did. Exactly the same problem. I cannot remap the buttons.

I actually fixed this by myself. Hit start with the PS pad, (well, select) and then used the pad to navigate the menus, and eventually the controller screen defaulted on a PSX style pad and I was able to remap.

It's a moot point now anyway - this game is a mess and I removed it. Managed one draw and the rest were defeats. It's far too stodgy, scripted and defending is impossible.
