Is it true that some chilean players got drunk the night after the match against Mexico and there were fist fights between themselves?

Yes, at least that is what they said in Estudio Fútbol. Supposedly, the coach had given his players the night to celebrate and they took it very seriously.:D Supposedly they got back at 3am very drunk, and had broken some tables and chairs at the restaurant. The female staff of the hotel also reported that they were harrased by some of the Chilean players. Supposedly the Conmebol is going to take actions soon.

That was just plain sad. I didn't even pay attention to the game because I already knew what was going to happen. It's sad to see such talented players wasted because of that ignorant of Nelson Acosta. He already wasted the best generation of Chile in '98 but at least now he's going out for sure.

Anyway all my faith is with the u20 squad. Those kids are good. And even though Sulantay isn't a brilliant strategist he knows how to present a good team, and make the correct decisions.

Yeah, the commentators mentioned something like that while Uruguay played Venezuela yesterday. The involved players are, supposedly, Jorge Valdivia, Jorge Vargas, Pablo Contreras, Reinaldo Navia and Rodrigo Tello.

Here's what I found about it (all in spanish)

Excesos nocturnos

Señalan a jugadores chilenos de causar destrozos

Camarera del hotel mantiene acusaciones

La selección Chilena insulto al personal del hotel Mara Inn y rompieron los muebles.

Final scoreline too cruel for Chile. They wasted a lot of chances and we didnt, but 6-1 was way too much. Glad to see Love scoring, finally. We still have to play better next phase in order to beat Uruguay.

Nelson Acosta and the lack of professionalism from some Chilean players. Have some self-control at least :nape: Somehow the attitude of Chile yesterday reminded me of Serbia & Montenegro from the WC (but for different reasons of course)

It was a shame of a tournament for Chile overall.
