Crashing to desktop...

The game crashes out to the desktop whenever I score a goal.

I know other people have probably had this problem, so that's why I'm asking for help.
I checked EA tech page and they suggest the usual, ie; updating drivers, playing in 1024x768, etc...
I've done all that and the game still bombs out on me.

Can someone clue me in on how to fix this, or am I stuck waiting for a patch?

I too had a couple of crashes while playing, but it was not whenever a goal was scored. I think the odds of EA releasing a patch are rather slim.
