FIFA 2004 ONLINE: Why do keep gettin connection failed when challenging users??

Hey,
I have only just starting using FIFA 2004 network play and have only been able to play one match.
Each time I challenge now I recieve a connection failed notice. Sometimes I recieve a second message saying that I have been disconnected from the server altogether???
any ideas???
