FIFA Crashes When I Start A Game

Hey lads,

my FIFA 13 crashes everytime I want to start a game. I'm in the main menu and when I click to start a game the screen freezes and FIFA shuts down. Yesterday it worked without any problems and since then I just edited a bit but nothing special I haven't done before. In my FIFA 13 folder I found this dmp file: FIFACrashDump_CL1298564_2013.06.28_15.13.59.

Anybody got an idea how to fix it?

Doesn't work for me. I replaced the files that have been changed recently like the data.bh files and now Origin tells me that the game isn't installed :/

Any time you mod the game, you're taking a chance you'll have to reinstall either the backup files or the game itself. Easiest thing to do is simply reinstall the game via Origin, and then add your edited files.

It depends on what you edit and which mods you install. Best thing is to do this: Once the game has downloaded and installed, copy all default FIFA 13 files and save as a backup. Then if you need to, you can reinstall those backup files at any time. Also, make backup copies of your edited files as you mod the game. If you add something that crashes your game, just go back to the previous edited version you know worked.

Easiest way to save/backup your main files is to copy/paste the main FIFA 13 folder inside your Origin Game folder. Will look like this:

FIFA 13
FIFA 13 - Copy

You can create several versions of the main files this way, and then easily switch back and forth between them by simply renaming them. I do this when testing different product files; it saves having to regenerate the main files when I want to switch to a different product file.

ok i reinstalled fifa and moved some files to see which causes the crash. it seems like that data0.bh is the one i'm looking for. what kind of stuff is saved in this file?

Use FM 12 to view the data files.
