First Option

Fernandez

Team Captain
I am using Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Bundesliga in season 2004/2005. I want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo on a first option deal.

Details:

Fee: £0
Duration: 1 year
Future Fee: £60,000,000

I have that offer accepted and had many weeks pass by.

So..... now what?

in a year time you'll have the chance to buy the player for £60million :crazyboy: :funny:

it means if the club decides to sell him, they can only offer him you, if you then reject to make a bid they can offer him to anyone. Basically it means you get first pick.

Though personally i think its done bad on CM

basically its usually used with smaller plauyers, say Man Utd but a first option bid in for a 17yr old for 2 yrs.

After 1 year the club, say Rotherham want to sell. So before selling to anyone, they give the first option to Man Utd, this PRICE has already been identified earlier on, in your case it is 60m. They then offer this to man Utd and they either accept or reject.

If they reject the club can then sell the player to anyone for any price

TROD.

however the club doesnt have to sell remember. It could just decide to keep him

the 0 pound you payed in the first instance is the fee FOR the option in the first place, the 60m is the fee that the club will offer him to you for in the future

TROD.

I use it quite a lot when I'm a big team, and see some talent, I then make a first option offer, so I can buy him if he develops into a good player

I did it with Real Madrid and Tevez.....I paid half a million euros to get a first option for two years with an agreed price of 12 million euros.

I don't believe the team can refuse though

I kind of cheated though....every time some other club would come in to get Tevez....I would enact the first option, have it accepted and then cancel the transfer, thereby buying some time until the transfer window closed and letting him stay longer at Boca.

I kept him at Boca for a year and a half and then brought him over when he was 20 I think:rockman:

Its also a good method of pissing off players so they will ask their teams for a transfer. I took out a first option on C.Ronaldo for a ridiculous agreed fee. I then enacted the first option, agreed the transfer and in the end cancelled it. I did it again...and C.Ronaldo was pissed a few weeks later and asked for a transfer. I then negotiated a much lesser transfer free with ManU since the player was unhappy.

I think I've been playing CM too long....I use every trick in the book to make money and get low transfer fees, my goal is to have a bank statement saying a billion dollars:rolleyes:

Well, I guess it's easier than me spending 26 million pounds on Cavaneghi when he's 22, but what happens if you leave the club. I get ambitious every now and then, or just want a change of scenery. Then you miss out on the guy. Plus there's no option to keep track of the first options you make that I've seen.

And you try to get 1 billion with all kind of tricks while I get 1.5 billion for one player:crazyboy: and reject it, but that's another story

Well I could just go for the billion dollars....but I have to support my legendary squad...which consists of two completely different lineups of world class players (32 in total).....plus another 30 promising players on loan or developing at my B team...which has won the Spanish Second Division Repeatedly.

My Farm team, Marseille, got so good that they are my chief opposition in Europe....they have a few hundred million euros in their account....funnelled from Real Madrid

I am using Arsenal now as my development club for Real Madrid and Marseille......since they went bankrupt, providing a perfect development team...60,000 stadium and no squad players since they were bankrupt....so I took over and loaned out all my promising players from Real and Marseille to them.

I have bought up basically every promising player under the age of 17...and now the good part begins.....all the big clubs are looking for talent.....but guess what....I have it all now and for the forseeable future.

Oh well....I think its going to my head...:fluffy:

Maybe its time to add another team to my monopoly.....hmm...I don't have a Serie A team yet....
