'First Touch' & Ball Tricks: Worth it?

The 'First Touch' ball tricks that you can do with the left analog controller seem to be mostly useless against the computer. I've found one (kicks the ball a little ahead of you) that actually works. All the others just make it easier for the comp to get the ball.

Anyone have other experiences? (I play on PC)

I find the first touch and "change the direction of the ball 360 degrees" useful when I have one of my defenders that will get on the ball slightly first than a CPU attacker, if I time it right I leave the attacker dead in his tracks while my defender has space to get away from the box with the ball.

Let's say the ball and the movement of my defender are both to the left with the attacker moving behind my defender catching up, I first touch the ball and move the stick to the right, the defender will make a "special move" to bypass the incoming attacker and move the other way, I can't explain it better.

no its not, the thing u need most in fifa is passing skill and tactic strength.. if u play against world class AI they barely get cheated by your first touch skill.... they know when and when not to close down ur player

First touch and ball tricks are usefull if you know how to use them
