Game Patches for 2002 FIFA World Cup

I would like to download a game patch for 2002 FIFA WORLD CUP, however, I am unsure about something. Once the patch is downloaded, how does the game know that it has been downloaded, i.e. how do you activate the patch, once the game CD is inserted ?

you can find some nice Patches at www.fifafx.de ;)

Normally there is a README included that will explain how to install a Patch.

Always REQUIRED:

A FULL installation on your HARDDISK !
When you install FIFA choose USERDEFINED and MARK ALL boxes.

To check if you have a FULL installation you can go to data\audio\spc-folder and look if you have a speech.str -file inside.

Everyone has given you some excellent sites for patches.

Now, some general info about patches -- most patches will either a) self-install, or b) come with instructions on what you need to do. The game will automatically recognize the changes made to the game files, there's no need to activate the patch (with a couple of exceptions, such as the AMAZING Cinematics patch, which has its own executable). How will you know the patch is active? Depending on what the patch did, you should see a noticably different visual queue (such as different kits, faces, nets, etc.) or a difference in the game's action (in the case of a gameplay patch).

What particular kind of patches are you looking for? Maybe we can answer your question better.

Just one more thing...

How do you get rid of the Game Patch, and get it off your game? By the way, many thanks for all of your help - it is grately appreciated. Thanks.

Some patches have an uninstall, some don't (because of the way they update the files). Sometimes the best and easiest way to get rid of a patch is to reinstall the game. Although if you've applied multiple patches, you'll lose those.

One More thing...

And one more thing -- both before and after applying a patch, I make copies of the affected *.big files in the data/player folder (or elsewhere, depending on what was updated) and the *.dbi files in the data/cmn/fe directory. That way I can always revert back (or reapply certain settings after a reinstall).
