"GAMEPLAY UPDATE" Coming Soon - latest news!

Starting XI
"GAMEPLAY UPDATE" will be the most realistic and fun gameplay update ever for FIFA 2002.

The first release will be one download, one which gives you 5 shooting difficulty levels to choose from, but soon after there will be 16 files for each shooting difficulty to choose from a total of 80 files, with total customisation for your FIFA 2002 gameplay needs.

LIST OF FEATURES: -

FIFA “GAMEPLAY UPDATE” 2002
FREE-FLOWING FOOTBALL: Players are spread out around the pitch more and mark the ball at a wider angle and length, but quickly close you in quicker then ever, this giving the player enough time to pass the ball around and build-up a good strategy and feel to the game, but running through the defenders is only going to be achieved with fast forwards with a good fatigue not to mention skill. The AI has been reworked to string together more crafty 1-2’s, quick passes, more ground play and have got an even more deadly long ball to break your defence, but your defenders are more aware and are not going to allow them to get away with everything.

TOTALLY BALANCED: "GAMEPLAY UPDATE" has been designed to make matches as realistic and balanced as possible. Cleverly using your manager knowledge, you can change strategies and team formations, make substitutions and switch players round, which now have a greater effect on the game then ever.

IMPROVED BALL PHYSICS: The ball moves and reacts more realistically, this improving passing and shooting. Goalkeeper saves are also affected as the timing of the ball dropping is harder to get the rebound, something so small, but could yet make a big impact on the important matches.

NEW SHOOTING: A shot doesn't require as much power to achieve height, which makes the shot more floaty and look more realistic. If you get the power just right you can score further out, but it does require practice and a good striker.

NEW LONG BALL: The long ball has been balanced, for height and speed to make it harder to play.

MORE DRAMA: The AI has had work to foul more, cause more injuries and get winded players. AI teammates foul more when feel threatened and decisions are made, which might not be satisfying to the receiver of a bad challenge. The injury system works with fatigue and angles, tired players are more vulnerable to getting injured.

TACKLING IMPROVED: It is much easier to tackle a player, but like wise, it is much easier to be tackled, so the game becomes are much more build up play, then trying to run past the whole team. You can’t also go diving in with slide tackles all the time.

DEFENCE: Players give you less time before they want the ball and they search for loose balls quicker. They are more physical with their play, which means they don't hesitate for going in for tackles.

CPU SHOOTING: The more you pressure the striker, the better the chance their shot will be saved or missed.

TOUGH AI: The majority of your goals will come from skill, timing and that players attributes, some goals will be lucky and more 'scrappy' then others and even the own goal happens a little more often then usual. The AI is much harder to break down and attack frequently.

EMOTION: One main focus on the update is getting more emotions from the players, if it is frustration, to cheering, to even jumping out of your seat, thinking that you'd scored, "GAMEPLAY UPDATE" brings you closer to the real game then ever.

LIGHTING: New lighting effects make the game look even more spectacular.

SOUND: Increasing the length the crowd cheers, boo's and chants makes the game even more atmospheric and exciting.

The main thing is that the overall gameplay has improved a lot over the original and my past updates. :)

Thanks,

It sounds good but I think you're exaggerating thrings to make it sound better. Some things you've said I'm sure couldn't be done.
Like the fact the defence foul more when they feel threatened, I'm sure this isn't true, they probably just foul more fair and square.

I understand your points here, but it is more to pace also, if your player is faster then the defender then he will result to a slide, but still even the that defender is faster or the same, if you're in a good posistion, then he will also result to a slide, but not all the time, most fouls happen when you're getting closer to the opositions area.

CANT WAIT!!!!!!!plese tell the release date of this patch.

It will be out in a week or so, I am not 100% sure yet, as little annoying problems keep propping up and although I can fix them no problems, I don't want to release it and get e-mails from guys saying it has bugs.

Most of my updates are bug free. :)

I can tell you, this update makes FIFA 2002 harder to play, unlike my first update, which made it easier.

It's all true!

I know that a lot of what Nick says might sound hard to believe...but it's true. I've been lucky enough to be able to test his Beta patches...and I must say there have been many times in the past couple of months I've walked away from the computer after playing a couple of games feeling completely worn out...like I've just played on the pitch myself. Such is the level of realism he has been building towards. We've tried about 8 different Betas so far...and each one has been great in its own way. I think he will finally have it all in this latest update.

The shooting has been the hardest part to master, but I think he's finally done it. Using different shooting difficulties really allows you to get used to the game...and change things as you become more accustomed. I'm playing with "hard" shooting now...and playing on a key board I get about 60 percent of my shots on goal.

The AI, the fatigue, the CPU defense, the fouls, the flow, the strategy, have all improved with every new Beta. The game truly runs at the speed you choose. You want to go all out...and score four or five a game? Well you can...but expect the opposition to match your pace and do the same. It's the same in real life...ask Kevin Keegan. You want to hold the ball, build up, and get the best out of a relatively few chances...you can do that too...and so will your computer opponent. You throw eveyone into attack...beware the counter attack.

Now, I know there are those among you for whom this game will always be a snap...who will always boast that they can score ten goals a game on World Class...and you will say this game play is not a challenge for you...that it only makes things easier...that FIFA 2002 is rubbish, etc., etc. But for those of us who really just enjoy trying to recreate a "real" game in its feel, pace, and atmosphere, Nick's gameplay patch I feel is the best gameplay enhancement yet. Play it on the keyboard...I dare you. It's an absolute blast!

I know Nick kind of tantalizes you guys ahead of time in these forums with his announcemments of impending releases, but stay with it. He has put untold hours of work into this latest release, and whenever it's ready, believe me, it will be worth it!

Cheers to all,

Mutiger is the man for feedback!!!

I have had other beta testers that have all given their share of great feeback, but this guy stood out.

I can tell you that the final code is nearly ready and that the CPU are even more deadly on their attack, but play your game the way you want it, just like Mutiger said and it is even more balanced now and that is what makes it better.

Again, from the last beta I have updated the shooting, it is harder now, but you can score some WICKED goals.

The defence is also much harder to compete with, but games can be played open or tight, some times it is your choice, but if the CPU takes over in charge, beware!!

I think that I am coming to the part where I simply can't update any further as in most cases I feel that it is just almost perfect.

Thanks,

Nick Clubman
