Im not sure if this should be in the players forum but anyway.

I was wondering at what age do you guys think goalkeepers are to old to play?

In my Everton game ive got a bit of a problem. Richard Wright is 31 in the form of his life. Hes Englands no 1. Coming through my ranks is this Italian. Hes 19 got a Potential of 197 his stats are good hes my next no1 basicly. The thing is he has started to complain about not getting first team games. Any Ideas on what i should do

Senior Squad
stay with wright but when you can spare the odd game against a sh*t team and in cup matches give your other guy the spot.

Youth Team
mebbe you should give the guy like a 3-4 games and thats to keep him match fit.

+ see if you winning by 3 goals and there's 20 min left in match bring the youngster on and let him get a feel of things:)

I like older GK's. The best one i've ever had in 03/04 was Abbiati at Milan, the man is a beast. I've never had good experiences with younger GKs btw.

Usually a keeper has to be over 26 before he makes my first team unless hes a "special" case of course (H)

Since there is basicaly no Experience factor in CM, I dont get it why young GK are supposed to be worse than old goalies. It's just stats. He's got better he plays, he's got worse he doesnt. It's CM not real football!!

I know but in my experience younger GKs tend to screw up more. Frey used to run 30 yards away from the goal just to clean the ball with a header when there was a defender on the ball. Plus there are those hidden stats like consistency and important matches for example.

Usually more experienced GK's have higher stats in those hidden atributes. I dont know if they change during the game, but anyway, i prefer signing older GK's, and having a young one in the bench. By the time the another GK retires the now not so young one will be able to take his place.

another thing you can do is just wait untill your young goalkeeper is superior to your older one. i've also got a 190-something potential goalkeeper, and i'm just waiting untill he passes my current #1 keeper's stats

I always have a tendancy too buy a youth keeper and stick with my number 1 keeper untill he retires, the only problem is, I then buy another slightly older keeper. After that the youth keeper I brought a decade ago doesn't get into the team :(
