This is a big national brand, but the supermarkets and small independent brands do it and their own version of Irn Bru (Iron Brew, get it?)

What are Lamingtons? Esme Watson was always making them on "A Country Practice"

No, it finished a few years ago, including the abortive attempt to move it to a totally geographically different area, with all the characters having mysteriously changed (except for Esme!) My wife was mortified when the original finished, as she liked Shane Porteous (she really preferred Shane Withington, but he'd left a few years before).

The new series did introduce us to Claudia Black (Eryn Suhn in "Farscape"). But now we get Blue Heelers (v. good) and we still have Neighbours (get me a gun, someone). Channel 5 are threatening us with the return of Home & Away (can it get worse!) I don't watch British soaps, as I'd be sticking my head in the gas oven after 30mins of Eastenders.

Compared to British cop programs like The Bill, Blue Heelers is not deep and meaningful, which is why it's shown at 2 in the afternoon!

The stuff coming out of New Zealand is pretty good, such as the Tribe. I avoid Shortland Street as I end up feeling that I would like to line up the whole cast and give them a good slapping!

I used to enjoy Police Rescue and Chopper Squad (going back a bit there). Christ! what happened to Jeannie Drynan! She was good looking in Chopper Squad, but was a beached whale in Muriel's Wedding!

Classic film tho! That, and "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" the ping-pong ball scene was excellent. One of my mates went on a cricket tour to Amsterdam(?) and they got some slips practice in at a bar called "The Banana Club" where there's a couple of girls do the same routine with, you've guessed it,....BANANAS!!!

I wonder if they use them for banana dacquiri's afterwards?

Amazing!
This topic started on TV adverts, went on to cola, Dandelion & Burdock, Irn Bru, Fanta, Mountain Dew, little sponge cakes covered in chocolate and coconut, Australian soaps, Australian films, before finally grinding to a halt about what young Dutch ladies can do with bananas!

Is this the last post in this string?

Watch this space...... ;)
