How to save default controller settings

We always play multiplayer and have setup the default profile with the controller settings to "New Analogue". However, no matter what we do the other controllers always default to "Classic Analogue" and we have to reset them every time.

Is there a way to save all the controllers to New Analogue?

Maybe if you create other profiles and then save your controller settings on those profiles, then when you come to play each other sign-in as those profiles.

Yeah, we tried that one and it only saves the profile settings for the "lead" controller. After trying so many different things, it appears more and more likely that there is no way to do it and it is just one more of those little annoying things that happen in this game.
