I downlaoded a roster update, but it overwrote my files! Plz Help!!

Here are the instructions on installing the roster update:
Installation:
Extract all the files to:
C(/D):\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 2003\data\cmn\fe

These are the files extracted:
fcdb_eng.dbi
fcdb.dbi
sampdoria.bmp

^I did that, but it overwrote the data files. It put in new teams and an updated roster, but the game crashes whenever i verse one of the new teams. This is frustrating as when i'm in season mode, i will go up against a team, but the game will crash.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the game but the problem is still there:(

I would like to know how to get the original data files back and have the normal, original game, without any of the new teams and updated roster.

Please Help!!

uninstall the game, then completely delete the Fifa directory, beware that you will lose saved games etc. then simply re-instal the game, or install it to a different location.

this should ensure that you are left with only the original data files, if the problem persists, then it's nothing to do with the patch, and more to do with currup data files on your cd
