I need help with online mode

ok so when i start Fifa 09 it all works i got the EA account and stuff, then when i try to go online game modes and i choose quick ranked match and it says updating rosters.. then it goes "unable to download the latest roster at this time. do you want to try again?" i did download and save file and keeps giving me that.. i cannot play online help plz wat do i need to download ??
