Inaccurate Simulations?

I've been simming some games with EPL teams based on the upcoming season. CPU vs. CPU. However, the results are coming out all wrong (or so it seems). Sunderland is #1 in the table, and Arsenal and Liverpool are at #18 and #19 (Four games in). I am using 4min halves.

Any ideas on how I can get more accurate results?

Thanks

Well that's up to the game!!
All isn't going to go as planned or simultaneously as in real life football. I think that what you expect when you play the game is that it's a sort of fantasy and an escape from the real life or world of football.

I'm playing in my second season with Chester and when I check the standings and the promotion/relegation issue:
Promoted
West Ham
Wigan
Wolves

Relegated
Norwich
Tottenham
Everton

So as you can see the promotioned teams surprise me a bit but the pattern just shows that it's sort of random process that determines whether a team would get a positive or negative results at the end of the match or the end of the season. But I do understand your point, because Arsenal and Chelsea isn't reflect as the powerhouses in the game. This draws out the reality in the game.
