invalid page fault after installing cable modem

Been running fine for years.
No online gaming.
Just had a cable modem installed.
Now get "invalid page fault in kernel32.dll" when I run FIFA 2002.
Logo screen comes up and disappears and it accesses the cd (as normal) but after a few seconds it comes back with the message.
If I unplug the cable modem before I boot Win98se, I can run the game.
Anyone had this problem?

download new kernel32.dll it allways helps my if im having problems!

try to reinstall the game...have u downloaded any patches to the game?
