to assign someone as a moderator just for one thread? It would be handy for when noobs invade sig threads or people post crap in club threads etc if the starter of the thread had the power to delete that post.

No, don't think so. I think you can only assign people as mods to the lowest level at sub forums, e.g. Players forum in FM Forum. Could be wrong though (:/)
