PC Custom Gamepad Controls?

Been playing FIFA on PS2 until I got a new comp recently then can handle the new gen FIFAs. So I bought FIFA 12 for PC, and a logitech F310. I want to get the controls exactly like I've been playing on the PS2 version. However, when I want to change the controls, attacking/defending seems intertwined, when I change some controls in attacking, it will mess with the defending controls, so I can never get the controls the way I'm used to. How can I bypass this?
