question about consecutive seasons in fifa 2002

In the manual it says that you can play up to 3 consecutive seasons with the team of your choice. Say I am playing as Ipswich Town, and I finish third in the Premiership. Do I get to play with Ipswich in the Champion's League the next season, or do the same preset teams play the Champion's League every time?

i juz finish a season playing Real Valladolid in the Spanish Liga and im 3rd at the end of the season the following season i get to play the Champions League playoff. :p
