Congrats on Stoke still, as on written paper, it says Stoke have beaten Man Utd 3-1 In Pre-season.

No one has mentioned, Forlan rocketed a goal to level the score, and was subbed off later on.

I read about it earlier on Manutd.com after the match. I have faith, He'll be rotated around this year with Ronaldo I reckon.

I hope Silvestre is ok to play this weekend because things wont look good if he cant play. Nevertheless we have Keano to drop back into defence and we have so many good midielders to choose from.


I think if Barthez continues to blunder, come christmas time he will out of Old Trafford.

I am a fan of Barthez but i think he really should be prepared to face the fact that he wont be at United for much longer.

Barthez can be blamed yes, but those defenders should protect him better, and playing stoke! There's really no excuse for that, maybe they didn't care, preseason and all, but still it's in the books like shokz said, Stoke got the win.

a shocking score-line even though it was a weak line-up, barthez is not reliable.

My RE teacher (lives next door) went to see it and he was well chuffed! Good old stoke.

The guy was fully 30yrds out when he lofted the ball over Barthez, onto the bar, onto Barthez' back and into the goal, so you can't say the defense weren't doing their job there.

I feel sorry for Barthez. He is/was a very good goalkeeper but it seems that he's just been making too many blunders recently. With Tim producing the goods in pressure games I think he is the first choice goalie for the start of the season and we'll just have to see how he does week-in week-out.

Can't really say the result bothers me. It was almost entirely a 2nd string team 3 days before the real games start. Well done to Stoke mind.

I was hoping that either C Ronaldo or Kleberson or both were going to make the debuts just to see what the reporst thought of them but it would have been too soon after joining the squad for that.

A more accurate description would be losing to stoke, when nothing but pride is on the line and playing a 2nd and 3rd string team means nothing.

I'd bet that even the players and staff of stoke know it means nothing.
