Man i haven't posted here in years, good to be back...but anyways im a foward for this amateur team, but i picked up a knock on my knee three days ago. This game's pretty important in terms of earning points but i dont wanna mess up my knee even more and i feel like i can somewhat play. What do you guys think?

Wear one of those slip in bandages which glove-fit your knee... Those thay are used for support... It should help... At least,it would prevent it from getting worse...

How did it go? Knee's are a very fragile thing, I had the same thoughts as you (playoff games! couldnt miss em!) and I screwed up my ACL even more. Make sure it's not any ligament problems first.

I never had any knee problems yet. I had some with my right ankle though playing hockey. Sometimes, when you actually play, you don't notice the pain and you forget all about it. It's something that you have to test (test your foot before the game) to judge.

Well we lost 4-0...was close for a while but then they broke away. my knee felt incredibly unstable, first i warmed up without the knee sleeve but decided it felt more stable with it...though as of today my knee is still in some pain. i played the whole game but i wasnt at 100 percent. not sure if i'll be ready for this week's game. i figure i'll sit out this week just so i can recover completely and not have a nagging injury the whole season.

reading your comments, i think its best if you go to a doctor. this isnt something you wanna mess around with.

Yea for sure, if it's feeling that unstable I would say you should stop playing until the doctor tells you what is wrong with your knee ( could be more serious than you are expecting ).

well the thing is guys, that the cause of my injury doesn't seem serious at all. i was standing on the ball and one of my teammates knees hit my supporting knee...if i thought that my injury was serious i'd go but it doesnt seem as though i'd have any major damage, plus there was no swelling at all.

I didn't have any swelling of any sort either. I was also playing and someone hit my standing leg. Like you, I kept playing with no real problems until I just couldn't handle it anymore and I went to the Doctor. He told me it was mostly a torn ligament but the MRI will say more - and it was a fully torn ACL. Just be sure there's nothing seriously wrong before you go and, potentially, screw up your knee.

It could be worse, if could be a minor tear of the ACL or MCL which keeps on tearing if you keep playing on without getting it checked out, that could cause it to fully tear and than your really ****ed Or it could even be some other type of injury. So just to be safe I would check it out with the doctor if it's not feeling stable after a week.
