Official Spurs Press Release
WASHINGTON DC (Reuters)- Today in Washington DC, Spurs chairman simonius discussed a huge drug problem his club currently faces.
"Ladies and gentleman of the press, I have decided to hold this press conference to discuss doping charges which one of my best players, Edgar Davids, faces.
"We selected Davids with our second round pick in the draft, 11th overall. Davids has for many years been regarded as one of the top midfielders in the world. We drafted him because of his outstanding allround play.
"Though we drafted Mr. Davids in January, he soon returned to his former club Juventus in order for him to make sure that he got lots of practice.
"Following the March 4 game vs. Udinese, Davids took a urine test. He has tested positive for the illegal substance nandrolone. He faces a possible 16 month ban or possibly an even larger ban.
"I am very ashamed that Edgar would even consider taking an illegal substance. I am not approving of what he does but if any of you put yourselves in my shoes, is an incredibly lengthy ban appropriate? If I would've known this, I wouldn't have drafted him.
"I beg the commish and Soccergaming Fantasy League to not punish the team and its fans. I suggest at most a 2 month ban and if you impose a lengthier ban, I would require a player of Edgar's caliber or some kind of huge benefit.
simonius will now answer any questions the press may have.
