For those with ATI cards who are being frustrated by dark graphics and choppy gameplay
I recently decided to roll back my drivers to either the 4.12's or the 5.6's
both work and have good performance on most ati cards.. I have a 9800 pro on a P4 2.2 with 1 gig DDR ram
I was having the same problems with Madden 06 last summer and I was told to rollback the drivers then as well.
well In conclusion the 4.12 offers good colour on most pitches and stable performance and the 5.6 has decent colour with solid performance.... just please use driver cleaner and read the readme before you decide to uninstal your drivers and install these ones as it assures solid performance for the new drivers...
i am using these modded drivers as well

up to you if you want to try modded drivers but I find them to be slightly optimized for D3D and openGL in the newer games
make sure you insert the situation.ini in your main folder and you maximize your ati settings to optimal quality with vsync on in the control panel with a resolution of 1024x768x32 in both the game and your desktop
either ati driver works well, with the 4.12 a safe bet for those with lower end systems
good luck and remember this is just a suggestion as it worked for my ati card and I
