USM 2 freezes

Im trying to run Ultimate Soccer Manager 2 under MS-DOS on Virtual PC 5, but the game freezes at random times. I have to keep saving my game all the time just in case its gonna freeze - the music freezes and the mouse cursor wont move.

Any ideas why this could be happening?
