What difficulty are you one?

and what do you think of it?

I am on pro but cannot notice any difference from semi pro. I would have hoped the opposition were a lot more attacking

Well, I don't have the game yet myself, but someone already sent me the config.dat file which contains the difficulty settings and I had a look at them and you are right to say that semi-pro and pro are almost the same since the differences in different values are minimal, but if you choose world class you will notice the difference will be as big as going from amateur to semi-pro (according to the values in the ai.ini under the different difficulty sections)

I played Fifa 2005 with my own customised difficulty setting, as I modified the values to make it as close as possible to a real match, very slow play, activated long range shots and substitutions from cpu, tweaked his defense a bit to be less aggresive, augmented the referee strictness and fouls, augmented the number of injuries and falling when tackled (windle value) and so on.

I intend to do the same with the new game if my copy of Fifa06 ever arrives in my mailbox.

well amateur to semi-pro is unnoticable too

Amateur is the lowest difficulty setting right? If yes then that's very strange as the values for the cpu skill are a lot lower in the lowest setting than the one just higher, same goes for the highest difficulty setting vs the one before it (on the pc version anyway)

Playing on Pro now.

Billy, how are you slowing the game down? What value in what file?

1) In the common.ini add this line or change the value to zero :

GAME_SPEED = 0

2) In the ai.ini modify the values of these lines to what's below :

GAME_SPEED = 40
DIGITAL_SNAPTOANGLE = 46
POWERUP_RATE = 18

Those modify the speed, these are my values but if you want faster or slower gameplay you have to experiment

for a more realistic feeling ball, change these values also in the ai.ini :

BALL_ROTATION_MAX_KICK_STRENGTH = 2000000.0
BALL_ROTATION_BACKSPIN_ADDITION_ON_MAX_KICK = 0.03
BALL_ROTATION_BACKSPIN_ADDITION_ON_MIN_KICK = 0.01
BALL_ROTATION_BLENDRATE_WITH_GROUND= 0.50
AUTO_BACKSPIN_LIMITER = 0.8
AUTO_BACKSPIN_MULTIPLIER = 0.8

I changed a lot more to make it even more "realistic" feeling but remember these modifications are for FIFA2005, the gameplay totaly changed in Fifa06 and since EA is slacking I didn't receive my copy yet, I'll have to test once I get it.

In that case, I'll let you test your theory on your own copy first. When do you anticipate having the game?

Now, in the ai.ini, is it the same theory of making a separate ai.ini text doc and saving to the master folder? Same as the common.ini?

In theory this should work, but I never put an .ini file outside of the config.dat in the root folder so I can't confirm this, after editing the files I always imported them back in the config and backuped the original on another hard disk :/

My game should be here, according to EA, maximum two weeks after it was available on the market, so in theory it could arrive as late as October 14th :(

I'm currently playing in Semi Pro. A little bit off topic, but anyway, do you guys know how to render every frame in the game? I get kinda low fps rate on my game, so it lags a bit. thanx.

I'm playing world class after I was running away with the prem and thrashed ManU with Spurs 8-0 at Old Trafford on Semi-Pro. There is a big difference now and my players seem to react much slower than the CPU players so I'm frustrated.

The way I feel it in World Class the only difference is there's less cpu assistance in shooting and passing.

Check my post here Render_Every_AI

To answer the question I am struggling to get a goal on semi-pro :eek: and yes amature difficulty is not much different to semi-pro.
