X-Box to release World Soccer

Microsofts X-Box console will be releasing World Soccer 2002.

There are no official details released yet, however I did get a chance to speak to a member of the X-Box team when I got to test the new console (Review in Non Football Forum).

Apparently the game will feature all 203 National Teams (this purely an international football game, no club teams), with the ability of qualifying for the World Cup...and playing in the World Cup. The game is said to have the full FIFAPro licence and have over 30 World Stadia (including the MCG for all the Australians out there), and all teams will have official kits.

According to Steve McLaren who I spoke to from Microsoft it will be "basically a game with the licence of FIFA, gameplay of ISS and the presentation of TIF".

The game is being developed by a German/English/US team, and promises to live up to its title: "World Soccer 2002- The Total Football Experience".

I recieved some more information too.

The game will be made by the Microsoft team and it will be released exclusively for the X-Box some time around April/May. It will also feature downloads of the internet using the X-Modem connection and your ISP to connect to the internet and add patches to the X-Box's 20gb Hard Drive.

X-Box have claimed that there games will be 99% copy proof (remember they said 99 no 100, so it can still happen), and also they diffenately said its impossible to emulate.

Gamecube might be an ok console, but it's not selling good at all. Sony have already claimed that Nintendo are NOTHING to them, NO threat and it's ALL because of the XBOX. It's changing the console industry around like wild fire and due to this the PS2's life has been shortened to 3 years, instead of the expected 5. Sony are shitting da' pants at the moment, as Microsoft have jumped in the next level of the next-generation console!

I strongly advise you not to buy ISS2002, it will be made by KCEO. It is not the same company that makes ISSPE2 and PES, which is KCET. If you want to play the best football games at the moment get a PS2, that is the football console. PES/ISSPE2 will not be released for the xbox or gamecube for a long time, becasue they have a contract with sony.

The gameplay will be shite compared to PES AND ISSPE2. The graphics and animations are also nowhere near ISSPE2/PES. The x box and gamecube will have crap football games, the graphics will be excellent but the gameplay I gurantee you will be poor.
