Yellow / Red Cards

I am new to Soccer rules. What is the deal with yellow and red cards? I have someplayers that have 3 yellow cards "has a yellow tag on them with 3" and one with red. How does this work?

If they accumulate 5 yellow cards they are suspended for one match, also suspended for the next match if you get a red card.

So if they have a red card on the player then that game they will not play but next one they can.?

no, red card in the currnet game means that he won't play next game

Ok. I get it now. I finished the game then look at team line up and see the player with a red card so that game they will not play even though they are still in the lineup.

Now if I get 2 yellows in one game does that stay with me the whole season? Do they ever go away?

2 yellows would equal a red card. Hence, the player would be thrown out of the game and your team would be down a man. The player would miss the next game because of those 2 yellows so no, they don't last the whole season.

But I have some that have 1 and some have 2 and 3 even 4 and the stay that way game to game. I see this in the formation screen before I start each match.

Ideas?

If you get 1 yellow in one game, that adds up to your season cards, get 2 and that lot gets erased, if you get 1 yellow card for 5 games, you get suspened, if in a match and get 2 yellows, the player gets red coz he's already been warned once
