Fifa 2002 has a lot of problems with it. It is a good game but lacks some things. In many people's minds Fifa 98 is the definitive Fifa game. Pretty sad really considering it is 4 years old. Doesn't say much for EA.

I don't need to defend myself and/or FIFA RTWC 98. The ones who play it knows that it IS the best one with all the new rosters and graphics available in the Official FIFA RTWC Update. Ezio said it well, it really is sad that a four year old game still is better than the newest game. It is just too sad...
However if you keep it updated you can still enjoy it even after 4 years!
The only soccer game really competitive with FIFA RTWC 98 on PC right now is ISS Pro Evolution 2 with the ePSXe emulator, but the problem with ISS Pro Evolution is that it has the best game play ever in any football game, quite good graphics and realistic movement but lacks in most other aspects (for example no real leagues, too few teams and the speach totally sucks big time)...

I would have to agree with the webmaster again on this one. I didn't mention ISS Pro Evolution 2. That is actually the game I am playing now along with Fifa 2001 because my 2002 won't run anymore but I am working on fixing that. Actually, imo Fifa 2001 is more enjoyable than 2002 too many problems with 2002 which I wont go into. The only good thing in 2002 is the open passing but as far as Fifa games the most complete has to be RTWC 98. As the webmaster said the only neagtive in ISS is that there are no leagues other than the master league which is actually pretty cool but for pure gameplay nothing comes close to ISS or RTWC 98. These are of course just my opinions. I just don't think EA cares about the PC market as much as they did their focus seems to be on consoles that goes for all their games not just fifa. Just compare Madden 2002 PS2 version vs. the pc version.

Yes, FIFA RTWC 98 must be the most complete soccer game ever released on PC since Sensible Soccer. The things it lacks is a custom league and custom cup, a career mode in which you could play consecutive seasons and what I'd really like to see is more of a management game like in for example NHL, with trades and buys being offered, or even better like Championship Manager.
